Bakhoor is the Arabic name given to scented bricks that are burned to give a thick earthy smell. Bakhoor are more often used for ceremonial occasions rather than everyday. The smell tends to last for several hours to a few days depending on the quality of the incense. They are usually burned in incense burners that are able to separate the ash and the chip as it burns. To burn the incense you need the Bakhoor and a burner. If the burner is not electric you will also need coals.
